BEAUTE FILES: EMMA HOAREAU

@emmahoareau

Emma was born in Paris and lived there til she was 7 so there are no surprises that growing up there has had a major influence on her beauty regime. Her curiosity for beauty started as a young girl wanting to know what each of the products laying around the bathroom did for your skin. Fast forward to 2018 where Emma is a freelance photographer based in London. Emma also runs her beauty and travel blog Lolita Says So. Emma tells me she obsessed with skin and finding out the best ingredients to use and trying the latest treatments. Amen to that!

TSB: WHAT IS YOUR SKIN TYPE?

EMMA: Combination

TSB:  WHAT DOES YOUR MORNING ROUTINE LOOK LIKE?

EMMA: I cleanse using a foam (at the moment, Caudalie) wash it off, follow with an antioxidant, eye cream serum and cream. And then apply SPF before I apply my makeup. The products I’m using at the moment are Skinceuticals Phloretin CF, La Mer The Eye Concentrate, Caudalie SOS serum and Augustinus Bader cream.

TSB: WHAT IS YOUR NIGHT ROUTINE?

EMMA: I cleanse with an oil balm (all time favourite is Emma Hardie Moringa) then go in with a second cleanse. Normally I like the feeling of foam but I also love Bioderma Sensibio gel cleanser, Avene Antirougers and Elizabeth Arden Superstart Probiotic Cleanser. I love using a mist or essence in the evening too, and either reach for Tata Harper Brightening essence or La Roche Posay Serozinc, before applying my all time favourite serum of all time: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. In the evening I like a thicker eye cream so go for either Kiehl’s Avocado or Sisley Siselya eye cream. If my skin’s breaking out I like to use an acid after cleansing too – either P50 or Ren. But I also just started trying the new Tata Harper resurfacing serum and can see an immediate difference the morning after. If I want to add an oil I love the Pai Rosehip oil (I have sensitive skin so I stay away from harsh essential oils) or The Ordinary Squalane. For cream I’ve been using Augustinus Bader again.
